Description

The EU will implement a law from mid-2023 that will require products such as timber, coffee, palm oil and meat on its market to be "deforestation-free". The measure raises concerns in Latin American producer countries. The law requires traceability systems for companies in 18 to 24 months, but some countries see it as unilateral and punitive, while others already have measures against deforestation.
